Japanese Warabi Mochi (Kinako)

Japanese dessert known as “warabi mochi” is typically prepared using bracken starch or “warabiko.” It is frequently served with a brown sugar syrup and coated with matcha or roasted soybean powder. Compared to mochi, which is produced from sticky rice, it is very different. The texture of warabi mochi is more jelly-like. The mochi itself has no seasoning and is delicious. They are covered in kinako, a Japanese roasted soybean powder with a taste reminiscent of peanuts.
