We are drawn to this KitKat Sake the moment it was introduced in 2016. But after a number of years, we keep going back to it because this KitKat Sake absolutely hits all the right notes for us. It expertly combines the elegant taste of sake that is mixed in with the gentle sweetness of white chocolate. With a 0.8% alcohol content in it, we find the alcohol taste mild at the first bite but gradually becoming sharp… Love it!

The presentation with this particular KitKat is awesome! I love how when you open the box they come in this white plastic bag that kinda reminded me of a hessian bag. Also I found the sake smell oozed out of the bag even though each KitKat is contained in their own separate mini bag.
I have a love hate relationship with sake as I’ve had some really nice ones and some pretty horrible ones so I had no idea if sake would suit a KitKat or not.
I found the smell was certainly stronger than the taste until it warmed up in your mouth then this smooth tasting sake came through. I’d say this KitKat is a winner in my books but I know it won’t be to everyone’s liking. I’d say go into trying this KitKat with an open mind and really appreciate it by slowly eating the mini and letting the flavours melt on your tongue.
